Seismic Retrofit

Existing buildings often need structural upgrades, whether a renovation changes how a space is used or an older building needs better earthquake performance. We start by evaluating the existing structure: reviewing available drawings, inspecting the framing, foundations and connections on site, and determining what loads the existing components can safely carry. Based on that evaluation, we choose the most effective and economical way to strengthen the building, such as new shear walls, steel moment or braced frames, foundation anchorage, or connection upgrades. We then prepare permit-ready plans and calculations. The result is a building that is better prepared for a seismic event, with an approach suited to the building, the budget and how the space will be used.
