Super Duper Carwash
Location: City of Industry, CA
This newly constructed car wash facility, located in the City of Industry, California, represents a seamlessly integrated design solution tailored to the operational demands of a high-throughput car wash environment. The structure itself was supplied by a pre-fabricated metal building manufacturer, selected for its ability to efficiently accommodate the functional flow and spatial requirements of the facility's operations.
Rincon's scope of work centered on the foundation design — a critical element responsible for safely transferring and resisting the vertical and lateral loads imposed by the pre-engineered metal building system. Given the site's operational conditions, particular attention was given to ensuring long-term stability and performance under the continuous moisture exposure inherent to car wash facilities.
To address these challenges, the foundation system was designed utilizing drilled caissons ranging from 36 to 42 inches in diameter and extending to depths between 7.5 and 14 feet. This robust deep foundation approach was specifically selected to mitigate the risk of differential settlement — a concern of heightened significance given the persistent saturation of the surrounding soils resulting from the facility's day-to-day operations.
The result is a structurally sound and resilient foundation system engineered to support the facility reliably over the long term, ensuring the safety of its occupants and the uninterrupted continuity of its operations.
