Founded by Ivan Tai, Vertex Engineering is built upon several years of structural engineering experience across educational, healthcare, residential, and commercial projects throughout California. Ivan Tai has designed and contributed to a wide range of projects under the requirements of the Division of the State Architect (DSA) and the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI).

Over the course of his career, Ivan Tai worked under the supervision of a licensed structural engineer, gaining extensive experience in the design, coordination, and detailing necessary to meet the rigorous standards of DSA and HCAI projects. His background includes educational campus improvements, healthcare tenant improvements, custom homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), commercial tenant improvements, retaining walls, seismic upgrades, equipment support structures, and foundation systems.

Ivan Tai has experience designing with wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structural systems while coordinating closely with architects, contractors, public agencies, school districts, and healthcare professionals. His approach emphasizes practical, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions that prioritize safety, constructability, and long-term performance.
